This is a time capsule jeep. Surplused from Ft. McCoy in 1975 and purchased
by the previous owner in early 1976. He kept it in his garage since. He
did a light repaint, keeping alot of the original markings by taping around
them.
If you are looking for a totally original jeep that truly hasn't been touched,
look no further. Vehicles like this are a true rarity these days. After
sitting for so many years in storage, I have taken the time and effort to
bring it up to today's standards without restoring it. Here is a list of
parts that I have installed to bring it up to a top level, original survivor.
Complete wiring harness, sealed beams, tail light bulbs, dash light assemblies,
high beam light, ignition switch, master light switch, dimmer switch, Blackout
drive light bulb, fuel sending unit, plug wire set, spark plugs, all rubber
grommets, throttle cable, choke cable, air cleaner hoses, fan belts, fuel
hose, fuel neck grommet, transmission and transfer boots, accelerator pedal
boot, vacuum hoses, horn button, wiper blades, transmission and transfer
case shift knobs, headlamp door seals, brake lines, brake hoses, wheel cylinders,
master cylinder, DOT 5 fluid, exhaust header, extension pipe, hanger, gaskets,
muffler, canvas strap kit, seat covers with rebuilt original seat springs
on all 3 seats, hood welt and windshield rest welt.
Included but not photographed is a New Life Canvas enclosure kit. In the
photos you will see the old side curtains, doors and the hardware. This
is included with ALL NEW canvas. Also included is a complete fording kit,
antenna and antenna mount.
The engine runs strong, no bad noises. The smoke in the photos is the oil
and paint burning off the exhaust. It ran for about 10 minutes and didn't
do this any longer. All the gauges work and are original to the jeep, nothing
replaced.
The jeep had an original aluminum winter hard top kit installed at one time,
so there are some small holes in the body from the mounting hardware. I
have the complete hardtop kit if someone is interested in it. It is not
included, but I will offer choice of the soft top or hardtop. If you want
both, I will sell the hardtop separately.
This is truly a one-of-a-kind jeep. The chance to have a jeep as original
as this probably won't happen again.
To restore a project jeep anywhere close to this level will far exceed the
asking price. Plus, you won't have the history and patina.
