Fall Trail Ride
We were offered a unique opportunity this fall. My good friend Paul is friends
with Jeff and his family near Menomonie, WI. They own a managed forest preserve
of near 500 acres. They have cut trails thru the whole property and by the
following pictures you will agree, totally beautiful. We did not get the
turn out we had hoped from the club, but perhaps next year after seeing
this more will come. We did get an M38, GPW, M37, WC 58, and an M38A1 out
for the ride. Top right is the drivers meeting.
Starting out up the first trail. Sherry talks with the owner of the property
on the first informational stop along the way.
Managed section of the property where clear cut harvesting was used. They
do this in small sections at a time.
Looking back down the steepest incline we engaged. This clear cut section
produced a rather large whitetail when we drove in.
John F. and his M37 lost traction. Time to lock the hubs in! Then he made
it up. A good laugh was had as I did not have to even engage the 4WD on
my WC 58 to make it.
